Deat all, once again, Level 1 drivethru is been packed neatly and tidy. PLEASE do not mess up the area again. The next time or the next person who mess up the area, you will have to pack it back to the standard as shown in the picture. Floor was also swept!

Also please take note, the area for all to put our recycled city news is where you can see the trash bag. It used to be the corner where to put queue poles.

Something that I’ve learnt today

Haha… okie I am trying to keep this blog alive!! so I am going to share what I’ve learnt from my overlook.

 

I am doing logis on saturday. Rather Trinity was the actual logis personnel for the service and I got to know on the day itself in the morning. I was told that I can no need to go down since she is doing logis but still I choose to go down. So I text Trinity that I will be coming down late as I need to send things to Methodist Girls’ School before coming down to church.

I was kinda glad when Khoon Fai called me and tell me that he will be late for about 5mins. Then I remember that he was the understudy for the day (not knowing that that day’s logis is ONLY Trinity). So thinking that Khoon Fai will be reaching soon and that support should be ok but I was shocked after I received a call. ( I shun go into details for that as I don’t think is very nice/fair)

After getting my things settled, I rushed back to church asap. To my surprise, Khoon Fai came to me and say he not logis today. No wonder when I ask Trinity where is Khoon Fai, she don’t really know where he is too.

Anyway, we carried with out duty and all. Everything was ok. I was there to just oversee her duty. Basically, I let her run the service herself.

Closing, we did the closing together . I even checked her closing count and helped her changed too as she miss out something.

So what was I looking at and what did I do?

I was looking at the figures for our communion elements. And I even helped her to change the closing count figure as she may have forgotten that we had already done 500 for dialect church. So from 1903, I changed it to 1403! And that’s the figure that we are left with for Svc 4!!!

I actually looked at that figure a number of times BUT this thing just did not come to my mind at that point of time. What is it?? It is WE MAY NOT HAVE ENOUGH TO SUPPORT FOR SVC 4!! Why it did not come to my mind?? cause I was thinking, Svc 4 forecast is always 1.4K (forgotten that JJ did sound out that we are facing shortage already) So I leave it as it is. Svc 4 elements 1.4K.

BUT!!! This question came to me when I was traveling to church on Sunday morning for duty! I don’t think I will have enough for svc 4 later, at the back of my mind thinking of what will happen every month! So I quickly text Solomon (expo logis on duty) that I need to reserve 300 elements from his side as I may not have enough for svc later or even top up for Dialect church if we were to touch on it.

True enough, we touched on it and we do not have enough to support Dialect Church if I did not ask for 300 more to be send down from expo!

What am I telling you all these? For me like what mentioned in the title, it was an lesson learnt. It never come to my mind that 1.4k is totally not enough to support Svc4. Add on to the fact that I am Svc4 usher, I should know the attend and the forecast for a normal Sun Svc 4. This resulted in us, having to ask expo side to send us the extra elements and it was 95 who sent in down today. It was kinda bad.

Lesson learnt: Always check with Svc 4 personnel to see if the amount left over for them will it be enough to cover the whole svc? If not, Yonghui needs to be notify ASAP so that he can provide us with a better suggestion. If he can’t be reach, can call me. Why did I say ASAP? Reason being, svc ends at 530pm, recycling ends latest at 630pm. Expo service, they end their service at around 830pm? So if we were to alert our leaders early,at least we have 2 hours to let expo side to know that we are in lack of elements for the next service so that we can know if we will be supported for the next svc.

If we report in on the day itself, notice time is very short and what happen if, on that day itself, no one is available to send down to JW or there is not enough elements to help support us?

So from now onwards, let us all up our level of C-ness especially when it comes to figures and you think it will affect the next service!

Joshua Tham here! just wanna share what i've posted in my blog to the people who doesn't have my blog address! (:
just came home after a long sunday.
had usher duty then moved on to debrief and dinner with the rest of the leaders.

was reading the bible.
got affirmed through certain scriptures that i was flipping through.
just wanna share it out to those who does read my blog and hopefully still reading even though i've not been posting for few weeks.

CHC got it's own new building which located at Suntec.
moving in at around March 2011.
the time when i'll end my poly and move on to NS.

But there's something that really caught me today was the debrief by yonghui.
about chasing after the Holy Spirit, expanding my own capacity and growing stronger.
sometimes we may think that we're running after the Holy Spirit but He's already like 1KM ahead of you and when you call out to him, hey let's run together. He's reply would bei'm already way ahead of you. This shouldn't be the case, it should be 2 comrades covering for each other in a battle. Side by side, synchronized in vision and what you want to achieved. This should be the feeling you must experience with the Holy Spirit.

While i was reading the bible, there's 2 verses that encouraged me.

Revelation 3:11-13
¹¹ Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. ¹² He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.
¹³ “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”’

I've bolded and increased the font size of those words that are really the word in season for me personally. This is one of the verse that assured me and it's like an instruction for me.

The second verse is:

John 16:12
¹² “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.

This verse is the reason why we must increase our capacity, increase of rate of growing till a level whereby we can absorb the many things that Jesus mentioned in the verse. Not just in terms of ushering but in terms of spirituality. If we can't come to a point whereby we are not receiving much from the Holy Spirit then you would need to do a thorough reflection. Hope this will leave you thinking..

Things to note!

Yesh! I packed Logis drive thru again! Michelle and I decided to pack it once again cos we find it so so messy. *a pat on Michelle*

   

We were shocked to see this! This is not the way we put our umbrella! I’ve created a basket (the purple color one)  long ago to put all the umbrellas in there but this is what we found! And some of the umbrellas are still WET! Please do not place wet umbrella in the room as it will smell.

 

I’ve repacked the envelopes! From left to right!

The first pic is the NEW envelopes! If u can see I’ve pasted a piece of paper there telling you how the amount!
The Second pic is the OLD envelops. Which is to be given to JB when they requested. Same thing I’ve pasted a piece of paper there.
The third pic is still the NEW envelopes! It’s on top of the cage beside the tentages.

The reason for doing this is to allow easy access for us to take the envelopes and we will not mixed them up!

I was very shocked to see this kind of bulletins given to recept! I am not goin to say which day did I see it but I was totally mad when I see this!

Guys! This is not the way! Where is the spirit of excellence in you? Imagine if one day Pastor is to walk to the stand to take a look and he grabs a sheet of the bulletin cover and it’s one of the 3 that he gets? What will he think? What will he says?  And what more to say if it’s a guest who took it! What will that person think?

 

As we start the new year of 2010! Let’s race logis together as a family! Help one another! Love one another! Teach one another! even more! You’re never alone!
The same goes to keeping our logis room clean too! I’ve said it but I am going to say it again! This dept don’t belong to Yonghui, Alan and myself solely! It belongs to all of us! It takes two hands to clap! So let’s work together to grow this dept and make this dept even more fun!
